Mohammad Sarfaraz Early Times Report srinagar, Dec 15: Making mockery of the transfer policy of the government, many official have held the plum postings in various departments from past many years and successive governments have not dared to touch them as they enjoy proximity to corridors of power. "From Finance to Planning, Health to Education, Horticulture to Sericulture and Agriculture some people have made the departments as their fiefdoms and don't want to move from their first place of postings", said sources. Sources said that, central Kashmir has become hub of these influential people, and accordingly north Kashmir to South Kashmir, these people were not transferred due to their political proximity and they have become the bosses of many departments, where as the efficient and well deserving officials were either sent to Gurez or Kargil or where attached with the general administration department for months and years. Irony is that, the previous governments have left no stone unturned in favoring their close officials to stick to their choicest places and postings, and with the result the menace of corruption has grown, sources rued. They said that, if these officials were transferred, somehow they managed to get the transfers orders modified to get back to their choice postings. Sources said that the SAC should also take note of these influential officers who had not been transferred from various districts of Kashmir division from past many years, despite the fact that these officials have completed their maximum tenure, and most of them are retiring from their services in near future. "The Governor administration must take a notice of these officers and officials and ensure that the transfer policy of the state was implemented indiscriminately" said a senior government official, pleading anonymity. |
