Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 22: J&K State Karate Championship-2018 (Sub Junior, Cadet, Junior & Senior) began here today at Mahajan Hall. The championship is being organized by Amateur Karate Do Association of Jammu & Kashmir (AKAJK) recognized by J&K State Sports Council and affiliated to Karate Association of India (KAI) recognized by Government of India (Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports) member World Karate Federation (WKF) & Asian Karate Do Federation (AKF) recognized by International Olympic Committee (IOC). More than 600 participants from different districts viz Jammu, Rajouri, Kathua, Reasi, Srinagar, Ganderbal, Budgam, Bandipora, Kupwara, Udhampur, Kargil, Kishtwar, Doda, Shopian and Samba are participating in the tournament. Dr Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, Secretary J&K State Sports Council was the chief guest of the inauguration/ opening ceremony of the championship. Nazir Ahmad Bhat, vice president AKAJK, Romesh Gupta, president Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha, Ravi Singh, Divisional Sports Officer (DSO), J&K State Sports Council, Rahil Gupta, Vice President AKAJK, Advocate Vishal Sharma President Jammu District Karate Association were other dignitaries present on the occasion. |
