| Department of Horticulture stood first | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 22: Department of Horticulture Jammu was declared first position on the closing ceremony of annual Jhiri Mela 2018.
Jhiri Mela is held annually where score of pilgrims for northern state pay commemorate to the martyrdom of Baba Jitto, a farmer who is believed to give up his life in protest against the oppressive demands of the zamindar about 500 years ago.
During the closing ceremony of mela, Department of Horticulture Jammu was declared first and award was presented through District Development Commissioner Jammu in presence of DIG Police, SDM Marh and various district officers'.
The award was handed over to Chief Horticulture Officer Jammu Kirtan Singh Raina along with Ashwani Sharma DL-SMS Jammu, Davinder Singh Horticulture Development Officer Satwari and Rakesh Kumar Baghar, Horticulture Development Officer Marh. |
