Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 22: While Christian community were dressing well and preparing well for the procession, there were some non Christians making sure that vehicles used in the procession are in smooth position. From last many years people from across Hindu community are driving tractor while some Muslim's are seen carrying camel in the procession carried out by the Christian community. Sham Lal a tractor driver by profession said that from last four years I come here to drive vehicles for them. It has become a routine now as they approach us every year before the procession celebration. We earn few amount of money. This year we were told that we will be paid 2000 rupees. He added that out of that money we manage to save little money. I hope to earn good amount some day. They pay you some money, unlike, the government who had banned working around Tawi river. Mumtaz Ali who hails from rural area said that it is the first time I associated with them. They are like brothers to me. I came to know through some one that Christian community here need some camels for the procession. I left the place and came here to be part of the procession and earn some money. He added that all of those people who have came up with camels are Muslim's and they hold special position in the procession and if they pay good money I will definitely come next year too. An organizer said that we welcome everyone who wants to be the part of the procession and our celebration. Respect one another and love one another this is what we want to convey. |
