| Bedar people stage protest against Health Deptt, thrash BMO | | |  Early Times Report
MANDI, Dec 22: Locals of Bedar and its adjoining areas in Mandi tehsil today staged a protest demonstration against Health Department wherein Block Medical Officer was beaten by protestors. The protest was staged against non-availability of doctors at PHC Bedar for the last six years. The protesting people raised slogans against the BMO and CMO Mandi. During the course of the protest, few of the protesters in a fit of anger brutally beat the BMO Mandi, however, timely action by the police controlled the situation threatened violence from aggravating further. Tanveer Ahmed said that last year CMO and BMO has claimed that due to the shortage of doctors, they will perform duties on rotation basis i.e. for three days at PHC Badi and three days at PHC Bedar but the doctors did not come to PHC Bedar till date. |
