Early Times Report srinagar, Dec 25: In an attempt to befool the party high command for consolidating his position, the incumbent PCC president GA Mir is learnt to have directed his men in the state unit to manage joining of Congress events in Jammu Kashmir. According to the reliable sources in Congress circles, a secret direction in this regard has been issued by G A Mir to his loyalists in the State unit for impressing the party high command and thus get his PCC presidentship continued till the forthcoming Assembly elections. Sources said that the party high command was not satisfied with the style of functioning of G A Mir, who has allegedly promoted groupism in already faction riddled State unit of Congress. Because of this groupism, sources said, a number of senior Congress leaders have virtually sidelined themselves from the party activities while some others are mulling to join hands with either BJP or National Conference, sources added and pointed towards the recent joining of NC by former MLA and Chairperson of SC/ST Social Advisory Board, Swarn Lata. However, on the other hand, the Congress leaders are finding it difficult to convenience the political activists from other outfits to join their party owing to leadership crisis in the State. Caught between the two situations, sources said that these Congress leaders are faking joining events. While elaborating, sources said that Congress workers and even delegates, who have conducted the party membership, are being presented as new entrants and their joining events are being managed to befool the party high command as well as media. However, this has further diminished the image of G A Mir in the party circles, where faking of joining events is talk of the all leaders. |
