Ishtiyaq Ahmad Early Times Report srinagar, Dec 25: The tainted bureaucrats of Kashmir have amassed a huge wealth in Jammu region putting a question mark on Governor's assertion about taking action against the corrupt officials. The Governor's administration has said that a committee has been framed to look into the wealth made by bureaucrats in Jammu and Kashmir. However, nothing has been done on the ground. An official of General Administration Department of Vigilance Wing said that the administration has "failed" to stop corruption in the state. "The committee might have been framed but no action has been taken against the corrupt officials," he said. One of the tainted officials has allegedly purchased 4 BHK in Jammu in posh locality. A senior official has 4BHK and another tainted official has 2BHK. "The bureaucrats of Kashmir have amassed huge wealth and later purchased properties in Jammu and Delhi," the official alleged. The Governor administration has received a lot of complaints on its Twitter handle. The Twitter handle was set up on June 19, the day Mehbooba Mufti submitted her resignation as chief minister of the state after the BJP pulled out of the government. The Governor, through Twitter, has been receiving complaints about issues which were considered dead and buried. The State Vigilance Organization has registered cases against 200 government officials in the last three years for their alleged involvement in wrong doings. These cases have been registered related to misuse of official position, corruption charges, disproportionate assets, illegal compensation, purchase of sub-standard drugs, illegal grant permission to constructions, irregularities in funds, backdoor appointments, and various other wrong doings. An official of the SVO said that the investigations were going in these cases. "We register cases only if there is some proof. In all these cases, there is some evidence based on which the FIRs have been registered," the official said. "We do not register FIR unless we find some evidence," he added. |
