Absenteeism continue in Rajouri: DC's directions go into bin | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, Dec 28: Notwithstanding the clear directions to remain punctual during official hours and to provide better services to the people of the district well in time, many government employees have not changed their habits to remain on unauthorised absence from their legitimate duties. M.A Asad, Deputy Commissioner (DC), Rajouri in an order today has initiated disciplinary action against 16 such officials for remaining on unauthorised absent and has directed the treasury officer not to release their salaries till further order. Two employees belong to the office of chief planning officer (CPO), 8 officials associated with the office of district statistic & evaluation officer (DS&EO) and 6 officials posted in the office of regional director land and records (RDL&R). On the repeated complaints by the general public DC has ordered surprise inspections of some important offices at district headquarter on December 26. The inspection teams headed by senior district officers at about 10.30 am had found these employees on unauthorised absence from duty. "Taking strong note of mass absenteeism, the deputy commissioner had directed the erring officials to submit their explanations within one day" said Narinder Raina, district information officer (DIO). He added additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Sher Singh has been asked to enquire into the issue and recommend action under conduct rules. |
