Katra, Jan 5: Shri Swami Nitya Nand Wrestling Association Panthal is organizing "119th Panthal Kesari Vishal Dangal 2019" (Wrestling Competition) at Panthal in District Reasi 08 Kms from Katra town on 14th January 2019 (Monday.
The decision to this effect was taken in the office chamber of the president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma at Katra. Sharma is also President Senior Citizens Welfare Forum Katra (Regd.), Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India and Associate Vice-President Wrestling Federation of India. Others who attended the meeting were Prittam Kumar Magotra (President), Rajinder Kumar Thappa (Sarpanch), Parshotam Kumar Mengi, Parshotam Kumar Khajuria (Bittu), Mukerh Khajuria, Mohan Lal Sanmotra, Ved Parkash, Om Parkash Sanmotra, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri) and other members of Swami Nitya Nand Wrestling Association Panthal.
Shiv Kumar Sharma said 55-60 Wrestlers from different States like Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, H.P, Chandigarh in addition to various parts of the State viz Jammu, Kathua ,Udhampur, R.S. Pura, Reasi, Rajouri, Doda, Ramnagar, Roun-Domail, Panthal, Panchari, J&K Police and Dansal etc. are likely to participate in the Vishal Dangal.
He said a noteable feature of this dangal is being conducted regularly at Panthal for the last 119 years on the eve of Maker Sankranti day. He said it is expected more than 10,000 sports lovers would come to witness the Vishal dangal cash prize money for the 1st bout (1st malli) is Rs. 41,000/-, for the 2nd malli is Rs. 31,000 and for the third malli is Rs. 21,000/-.
"We have decided to honour the best wrestler of the dangal who wins 1st malli as "Panthal Kesari 2019". He would be awarded traditional "Silver Gurj (Gadda) and Patta" in addition to handsome Cash prize. An amount of Rs. 2,50,000/- likely to be incurred in the vishal dangal and would jointly be collected from Panthal, Katra, Udhampur, Jammu and other inhabitants of Panthal which migrate from there, "he added.
He said all the Wrestlers who come over there will get chance to participate may be they are local or outsiders. All the wrestlers who participate will get handsome cash prize. The dangal is organized in traditional "Mud Akhara" and the decision of the referee in every bout will be final. |
