Students of Schools, Colleges meet JJSF State Vice President | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 5: A delegation of students of various schools and colleges met Dakhseesh Maharaj, State Vice-President, JJSF and briefed him about the recent incident of harassment of a student in the hands of a bus conductor of R S Pura route just because he was paying student fare. They (students) told JJSF leader that the atrocities of Bus operators of different routes are at peak as bus conductors harass students and do not allow them to enter their buses just because they are students and they pay half for their ticket. Vice President said students of Jammu province are forced to pay full fare instead of Concessional fare. He said that it is very unfortunate that the the bus operators often argue with the students about half fare and the student community is being harrassed. He lambasted the concerned authorities i.e. RTOs and Traffic Police for their criminal silence over the matter and alleged that these departments might be in hand-in-glove with bus operators due to which they are unable to listen hues and cries of the student community. There was a recent case of similar nature and a video of the said case was viral on social media which shows that how a bus conductor was harassing the students and was using abusive words but till date no action was taken against the culprits by the concerned authorities. He added that the such incidents of harassing the Students has become the routine matter which JJSF can never tolerate. He said that JJSF is the watchdog of the student community and will never allow anybody to harass this community. He urged the concerned authorities to adress the issue on priority basis otherwise JJSF shall be left with no other option but to staged protest demonstration against RTOs and Traffic department at all the colleges of Jammu province. |
