Jammu, Jan 5: In continuation to operation 'Sanjeevani', launched by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu-Tajinder Singh, today Jammu police claimed to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered 7 grams heroin from his possession at Panjtirthi area. Police spokesman said that today during routine checking at Panjtirthi near Government Quarters Gate one pedestrian who was moving suspiciously was apprehended by police team led by SI Vipin Bangotra-incharge police post Panjtirthi. "During questioning, he revealed his name as Junaid Feroz Dar of Rainawari, Srinagar and on his personal search, 07 grams heroin like substance was recovered from his possession", said spokesman. He further said that the drug peddler was arrest and the narcotics substance was also seized on spot. In this regard, a case under FIR No.06/2019 under section 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered at Pacca Danga police station and further investigation of the case is going on.
