Jammu, Jan 5: A book 'Yari Von', a Kashmiri book penned down by late Manohar Chandpuri was released at K.L. Saigal Hall Abhinav Theatre complex Jammu here on Saturday. The book comprises a collection of more than 50 soulful devotional songs. The book was released under the banner of Samooh Theatre and Vemedh Rangmanch. Manohar Chandpuri, known for writing spiritual and religious lyrics, was the noted poet of the state who, besides his new release, has two more works under his shade namely Pamposh Dal Volume 1st and 2nd published in the year 1981 and 2010 respectively. The event was presided by Dr. Aziz Hajini, Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art and Culture and Languages while M.L. Raina, Relief Commissioner Migrant, Sanjay Saraf, National Youth President and Lok Janshakti Party icon were the special guests. A special tribute was paid to Late Chandpuri in the form of a impressive musical programme wherein the meaningful and deep lyrics from the book 'Yarivon' were recited by Sumita Bhat and very ascetically and beautifully composed by Rajesh Khar while through their tune of Synth and Tabla, Chandan Kumar and Rajiv Salotra gave their contribution. |
