Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 6: Police claimed to have cracked a ATM looting case with the arrest of six persons along with recovery of Rs 8,80,000. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu-Tajinder Singh said that on 4th of January, it was reported that unknown thieves had taken away the J&K Bank ATM machine from Baba Talab. "During investigation, dumped machine was recovered at Chowki Chowra and the thieves decamped the cash amounting to around Rs. 10,92,000", SSP said, adding that police zeroed on some suspects. On the intervening night of 5/6 Janaury, different nakas were raised in different parts of three districts Samba, Kathua and Jammu. Six suspects were arrested and two vehicles including a Scorpio and one I-20, which were involved in commission of crime were seized along with generator, cutter and other equipments. Police claimed to have recovered Rs 8,80,000 from the possession of arrested persons while one suspect is still at large and the efforts to recover the rest of money are going on. |
