Inter Zone Sports Meet concludes | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 6: The Inter Zone sports meet concluded with an impressive closing ceremony held at Gulshan Ground Jammu today. Chief Secretary J&K BVR Subrahmanyam was the chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Secretary said that Jammu and Kashmir Police is among the finest police forces of the country. He said that government has taken a number of steps with regard to the enhancement of Ex-gratia for the NOKs of martyred police personnel and the SPOs; created more promotional avenues as well as by implementing Non Functional Grade Scheme for the officers. He further said that more welfare measures are being taken in near future. He also desired that such functions of sports must be held at District and range levels. DGP, Dilbag Singh thanked the chief guest for gracing the occasion. He said that because of the advisor to Governor K.Vijay Kumar, Chief Secretary J&K B.V.R Subrahmanyam and Home Secretary R.K. Goyal the proposals with regard to the welfare measures of Jammu and Kashmir Police have been decided and implemented in shortest possible time. The DGP informed that more than 950 participants from different wings took part in the Inter Zone sports meet. He said that such events bring in positivity and also provide an opportunity to the police personnel from different zone to develop new friendships. He said another event of sport "Police Martyrs Memorial" is going on in full swing at Kathua and its final will be played soon. The DGP complimented the winners and the participants. |
