Govt fails to procure monitoring vehicles for ISM Deptt | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan14: In absence of 'Monitoring Vehicles' in newly created districts, the government in 2013 had proposed to procure these vehicles but till date ISM department has got none. According to sources, successive governments claimed that health sector was the highest priority of their government and people will witness major changes in this sector but ISM department exposed all claims as years lapsed and no vehicle was procured. However, successive governments of state on papers plans to revamp the health sector across Jammu and Kashmir but the ISM department has been always ignored. "Whenever we have to get the medicine from the district store to the concerned dispensaries, we carry that medicine on our own in our own vehicle. We have not received any single penny from the department," wishing anonymity an ISM doctor said. It is pertinent to mention here that few years back government of Jammu and Kashmir created eight new districts across Jammu and Kahsmir, but No DDO office was established in any new district. "In some districts only nodal officers are working without having the powers." Meanwhile in various Public Health Centres, which are under the health department, several Ayush doctors and Para Medical staff are working. Director General ISM J&K Bhupinder Kumar was not available for comments despite repeated calls. |
