Delhi proposes, J&K Governor disposes | Operation All-out | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 16: The Pulwama massacre of 44 CRPF jawns on February 14 has angered the nation. The people in the country and its Jammu province and Leh district have been protesting against the gruesome murder of our jawans and demanding action against those who committed this heinous crime against God and humanity. Their anger is genuine as the CRPF jawans didn't die while fighting out the enemy; they were murdered in the bus. The nature of bandh that people of Jammu province organized on Friday and the manner in which the government imposed curfew speak for themselves. Even today, the people at different places in Jammu province, including Udhampur held massive demonstrations to lodge their protest and force the authorities to take stringent action. They not only demand action even against the so-called mainstream Kashmiri leaders, saying they were as dangerous as those who murdered the 44 CRPF jawans in Kashmir as "they have been subverting the polity both from within and outside". The murder of these 44 innocent CRPF jawans has also put the BJP government at the Centre in a tight spot with its critics accusing it of adopting weak-kneed approach towards the enemies of the nation. To escape the nation's wrath, the BJP has been trying to tell it that its policy towards the enemies of the nation was not soft and that it was under their Government that the Army launched "Operation All-out" in Kashmir to rid the Valley of all the terrorists. On Friday against, the BJP claimed that the "Operation All-out is going in Kashmir" and that "the Government and the security forces are working in tandem to eliminate terrorists". The statement was made by the chief spokesperson of the BJP, Sambit Patra. It is difficult to believe him. The reason is that it was none other than Governor of J&K, SP Malik, who contested the claim that Operation All-out was going on in Kashmir. He made this unambiguous statement on January 15. Contesting the claim, the Governor, inter-alia, said: "There is nothing like 'Operation All-out'. Some people are using this wrong term. We want these children "militants) to come back and we are ready to do what we can do for them". |
