| Migrants call on CEO, demand EPIC Cards, abolition of MPB forms | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 25: A deputation of Kashmiri Migrants led by its Chairman/President Er Ramesh Chander Mahajan called on Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) J&K.
During the meeting, the deputation submitted a memorandum which include the charter of demands including demand for immediate installation of current EPIC card printing machine at Migrants election office and all the Zonal Relief camps offices of Jammu, Delhi and other places. The deputation appealed to give direction to all concern District Block level officers of Kashmir valley for issuance of pending EPIC Cards and demanded translation of electoral/ voter list of migrants from Urdu to English.
It was demanded to abolish MPB forms which has created hurdle for migrants voters filing formalities through these system adding that the migrant voters be brought at par with others in any election, so that maximum participation of the migrants be ensured through Electronic Voting Machine in their respective Polling station or on line voting system .
It is urged upon that Kashmir migrants be declared as internally displaced people and kept political reservation on five seats in state legislature assembly, four in legislative council and one each in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. |
