Now Geelani-Shabir Shah families lock horns
2/25/2019 11:50:12 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 25: The infighting between separatists that was in news since summer of 2017, when senior separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani snapped ties with his political rivals including Shabir Shah and Nayeem Khan has intensified in the recent past.
In the latest, Geelani's grand daughter Ruwa Shah has locked horns with Dr Bilkees, who is Shabir Shah's wife.
A few hours after Dr Bilkees alleged that Shabir Shah had been attacked at Tihar Jail in New Delhi, Ruwa, whose father Altaf Ahmed Shah alias Fantoosh is also imprisoned at the same jail exposed that Bilkees was spreading lies in Kashmir.
In a tweet, the said granddaughter said that none of the separatists undergoing imprisonment at the Tihar Jail had been targeted.
Ruwa said that her father was accidentally hit by a tile that had slipped in the bathroom at the said jail and that Shabir Shah was totally safe.
"My father, Altaf Shah was injured yesterday in Tihar jail after a tile fell off the washroom wall and hit his head. This snowballed into a rumour about Shabir Shah because of the same surnames. Shabir Sb is fine. Altaf Sb has got a minor injury. #Kashmir," Ruwa said in a tweet.
Her tweet came a few hours after Shabir Shah's wife tried to mislead the people by making the fake claim and sharing the same with media.
"I have been told from Delhi by some people that Shah Sahab has been attacked but what is the nature of his injuries and is he critical that is not known," Dr Bilkees had told media persons.
According to Dr Bilkees, some women had called her from Delhi giving her confirmation that Shabir Shah had been attacked inside the prison. "She told me that they have confirmed from certain agencies that Shah has been attacked inside high security prison," she said.
It is pertinent to mention that both Shabir Shah and Funtoosh were arrested by NIA in connection with terror funding in 2017 and were subsequently jailed at Tihar.
Sources said Shabir Shah's family has taken serious note of the tweet made by Ruwa Shah.
Sources said Shah's family would be picking up the matter with Syed Ali Geelani.
Despite repeated attempts members of the two families couldn't be contacted for comments.
