'Govt deptts, influential persons owe millions to PDD in Poonch' | | | Early Times Report Poonch, Feb 25: Government offices and influential persons owe millions of rupees to Power Development Department in Poonch district, sources told Early Times on Monday. They said that PDD has not collected the power bills from government offices, politicians, including former legislators, for a longtime and the pending liabilities have swelled. Sources said that PDD puts huge burden on a common man and downtrodden masses by making them pay extra fee while influential citizens and government offices are spared. "Tariff liabilities of different departments keep on swelling every month but PDD seems least bothered to collect the revenue," sources added. A local resident said that Governor Satya Pal Malik should constitute a committee to look why these departments have not paid the electricity bills and who among the PDD officials has given relaxation to them. Due to the alleged mismanagement power crisis is increasing with each passing day in Poonch district. |
