JAMMU, Feb 25 : J&K Grameen Bank organized seven Financial Literacy Awareness Programmes and twenty six village level programmes among unbanked villages under districts of Kupwara, Baramulla, Jammu, Bandipora, Kathua, Samba, Rajouri and Poonch. Financial Inclusion & Insurance Department under the chairmanship of Janak Raj Angural and in collaboration with RBI & NABARD organized seven Financial Literacy Awareness Programmes among unbanked villages of Branch Offices Kralgund, Poshwan, Reban, Watergam, Surinsar, Bhalwal and Chatha under districts of Kupwara, Baramulla and Jammu. Simultaneously, twenty six village level programmes were also held at different villages under that many branch offices under district Bandipora, Baramulla, Kathua, Kupwara, Poonch, Rajouri and Samba. Anil Reshi, Manager (RBI), Financial Inclusion Department, chief guest at the camp held at unbanked village Sagoon under Branch office Surinsar, appreciated the role of Grameen Bank in spreading financial literacy and awareness and consequent development in the state. Besides talking over major social security schemes, he also spread awareness about various types of fraudulent activities prevalent in the market to dupe innocent people of their hard earned monies. Vipan Gupta, HOD (FIID), J&K Grameen Bank, welcomed the gathering and applauded the fact that women in such large numbers (almost 80-90 women folk were present on the occasion) participated in this financial literacy and awareness programme. He talked in brief about various social security schemes like APY, PMSBY, PMJJBY, etc. |
