Hours after the Indian Air Force (IAF) launched air strikes on terror camps and launch pads across the Line of Control (LoC), Pakistan retaliated by violating ceasefire at multiple locations along the Line of Control (LoC) and the border. According to the reports, Pakistan violated ceasefire at Kanachak sector in Jammu and Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.
Nearly two weeks after a terror attack which killed 40 CRPF personnel in Jammu and Kahsmir's Pulwama, the IAF targetted multiple terror camps across the LoC and destroyed the Jaish-e-Mohammed's (JeM) biggest training camp at Balakot in Pakistani-administered Kashmir, killing a number of terrorists and groups of jehadis.

At 3:30 am, India's Mirage 2000 violated the Pakistani airspace and dropped 1000 kg of bombs on the terror camps.
"In an intelligence led operation in the early hours of today, India struck the biggest training camp of JeM in Balakot," Foreign Secretary Vijay K Gokhale told the media at a press conference. "In this operation, a very large number of JeM terrorists, trainers, senior commanders and groups of jehadis who were being trained for fidayeen action were eliminated."
The Balakot facility, which was destroyed in the attack, was headed by Maulana Yusuf Azhar, brother-in-law of JeM chief Masood Azhar.
Pakistan also admitted that IAF violated the Pakistani airspace but claimed that they returned when it scrambled its war planes. Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Asif Ghafoor said the "intrusion" took place within three to four miles of LoC in Pakistan administered Kashmir. |
