NABARD organizes Credit Camp for SHGs at Udhampur

Udhampur, Feb 27: A Credit Camp for Self Help Groups (SHGs) under EShakti was organized by. Manohar Lal, DDM, NABARD, Udhampur at Udhampur. P. Balachandran, CGM, NABARD, J&K RO, Jammu was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The programme was attended by Sat Pal Sharma, Chief Manager, PNB, Bal Naru, LDM, Udhampur, various Branch Managers of PNB from Udhampur, Om Prakash, President, Gramin Pragati Sangathan, Udhampur and members of SHGs. Sanction letters for a loan amount of Rs. 80.85 lakh were given to the 35 SHGs by Balachandran. These SHGs are promoted with financial assistance from NABARD by Gramin Pragati Sangathan in Udhampur district. The entire loan amount has been sanctioned by various branches of PNB in Udhampur district. It is pertinent to mention that during the current financial year the PNB has sanctioned and disbursed an amount of Rs. 429.00 lakh to the SHGs promoted with financial assistance from NABARD by the above mentioned NGO in Udhampur district. It may be mentioned here that the recovery under these loans is 100%. Speaking on the occasion Balachandran appreciated the efforts of PNB in financing the SHGs in Udhampur district. He also lauded the efforts of the NGO in working tirelessly for the benefit of the poor women by mobilizing them into SHGs and engaging them in income generating activities with the help of loan assistance from banks.
