Jammu, Feb 27: Shiv Sena Bal Thackeray JK leaders today met the people of Valmiki community in Jammu and jointly appealed to be declared 35A non-existent because technically it has no existence in the Constitution of India. On this occasion, state Chief Dimpy Kohli and General Secretary Manish Sahni said that a handful of Kashmiri leaders are misguiding the people in the midst of their own personal interests. Sahni said that what's the irony that the cleaning workers of the Valmiki community who clean all the filth, they themselves are victims of legal mess due to the Art 35 A. Sahni said that due to the discrimination being done with them, these people have to change their religion. The people of Valmiki community forced to live like refugees, whom the government had called in 1957 Jammu Kashmir from Punjab, today are still deprived of basic local rights even after 60 years. Their children can be educated to a higher level, but due to the rules made under the aegis of Article 35A, they have no choice other than to become a clean worker. Sahni said that even in the world's largest democracy, Regardless of how much the son can read, in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, he can only give the job of sweeping the roads and filth of Jammu by taking a broom. These people are neither government nor cannot take any job or take admission in any government higher education or professional course, such as medical or engineering courses, nor can contest elections in the Legislative Assembly and cannot even vote. Sahni said that although 35 A is pending in the High Court, in spite of this. |
