JKGPAOA organizes meeting, demands finalization of seniority R.B. Suri 2/27/2019 10:57:54 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 27: The J&K Graduate Promotee Agriculture Officers' Association (JKGPAOA) organized a meeting under the chairmanship of its president Ragbir Antahal to review the large number of comments of its members supporting demand of finalization of seniority after filling the quota of promotees as per share and stop temporary promotions especially in favour of Direct Recruits appointed w.e.f 1988. In the meeting it was observed that due to serious laps in implementation of Agriculture Gazetted Service Rules of 1988 right from the beginning the situation has turned alarming as almost 99% all officers from Class-VII Gazzetted cadre to Class- I (Head of Department) level are working as Inchage. The president revealed that with the serious consequences of non-finalization of seniority the present honest government instead of appointing temporary director in violation of rule has recently preferred to post non- technical Director of Jammu Division from KAS cadre. The president strongly urged the government that like Director Agriculture no temporary promotion orders be issued in favour of direct recruits appointed after 1988 rules till the huge gap of 564 remaining vacancies of promotees is filled in Class-VII and seniority finalized. He further added that under unavoidable circumstance/till finalization of seniority only promotees of relevant batch/year be considered for making temporary arrangements under unavoidable circumstances that too for the time being. He insisted on the government to immediately revoke the impugned orders of temporary promotion in view of Court Direction issued on 10-09-2018 in case of Des Raj Barua & ors v/s State & ors. for consideration of representation dated 16-08-2018 of petitioners submitted to the Director of Agriculture, Jammu immediately so as to do justice with the aggrieved officers.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
