Farmers' Training Camp organized | | | Early Times Report SAMBA, Mar 7: Farmers Training Centre, Jammu in collaboration with District Legal Services, Samba organized a day long Farmers Training Camp at village Balode of Samba District which was attended by a large number of farmers. The programme was conducted under the directions and guidance of Deputy Director Agriculture (Trainings) Jammu Sunil Koul. Speaking on the occasion, District Agriculture Officer, Samba Vijay Upadhaya said that purpose of the camp is to create awareness among the farmers regarding various aspects of organic farming and use of latest agricultural machinery. He asked the farmers to avail the benefits of Kisan Credit Cards (KCC) Scheme to meet out the expenses to raise the crops and also to get their crops insured under newly launched Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY). Justice Swati Gupta from the District Legal Services on the occasion asked the trainee participants to get the full awareness for various ongoing welfare schemes and programmes including their rights and legal aspects. Sarmesh Kumar, Training Officer and Deepak Kumar, Farm Management Specialist, Jammu exhorted upon the farmers to avail the benefits of various farmers welfare schemes including PMKSY, Soil Health Cards Scheme (SCHS), Sub-Mission on Machinery (SMAM) and NAFCC. Ashok Gupta, Dy Project Director, ATMA advised the farmers to double their income through value addition of their products, diversification of agriculture through apiculture, organic vegetable cultivation, mushroom cultivation and growing of marigold & cut flowers. Small Hand Tools, Refreshments and literature on various schemes and programmes for the awareness of the farmers was also distributed on the occasion. |
