JAMMU, Mar 7: Terrorists have again struck and they have targeted the same place three times in 9 months -- sensitive, vital and ever busy Jammu bus stand, located in the heart of Jammu city. The latest terror attack in the heart of Jammu city has left one person dead and at least 32 innocents injured, some very critically.
Reports suggest that the terrorist(s) used "Chinese grenade" to cause terror in the communally-sensitive Jammu, which only on February 15 witnessed massive protests across Jammu province. Terrorist Yasir, who exploded the grade has been arrested. Credit goes to Jammu & Kashmir Police.
That the terrorists could target the bus stand area three times in just 9 months with utmost ease speaks for itself and it should be a cause of concern. It only points to the fact that what was required to be done to defeat the evil designs of Break-India forces or preempt the ugly and deadly moves of terrorists had not really been done. This, despite the fact that thousands of people, particularly from North India, including Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and so on, come to the Jammu bus stand everyday to board buses. Any untoward incident here could trigger protests across the country. These two facts should have been taken into consideration, but, it appears, that the administration ignored these two vital facts.
It needs to be underlined that Jammu city has been the target of Pakistan's dreaded spy agency, Inter-Service Intelligence, since 1994, when Pakistan was defeated comprehensively at United Nations Human Rights Council, Geneva, by India and European Union. Pakistan had to withdraw its nasty and anti-India resolution on "Human rights situation in Jammu & Kashmir".
Pakistan and its agents in Kashmir believe that if they are to break India and achieve separation of Jammu & Kashmir from India, they have to create a Kashmir-like situation in Jammu. The Government of India and Indian agencies knew all this and yet elements in the establishment could settle in Jammu Bangladeshis, Rohingyas and similar others at several strategic locations in and around Jammu city.
It's time to review the whole Jammu policy and evolve and implement it so that no one could dare to target Jammu again. This is a must.
