Will NIA arrest Mirwaiz for defying summon? | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 12: Hurriyat dove Mirwaiz Umar Farooq not travelling to New Delhi to appear before the sleuths of National Investigating Agency for questioning in terror funding case has put the ball in NIA's court. An expert while talking to Early Times said that Mirwaiz stating that he cannot travel to New Delhi due to "hostile atmosphere" is not a valid excuse. "Either he could be arrested for ignoring the summons or NIA sleuths can question him in Srinagar itself. Now it remains to be seen what would be the NIA's next move," the expert added. He said that NIA sending summons to Hurriyat dove is a clear cut indication that Pak stooges won't be spared and they would be dealt with sternly. "Kashmiri separatists leave no opportunity to spew venom against India and have been indulging in anti-national activities openly. They know it very well that they are not welcome in any state," said a politician. He said, "Everyone wants the anti-national elements to be punished and held accountable for pushing Kashmir to the edge. If Mirwaiz has nothing to hide he should face the NIA and stop hiding behind the excuses." Officials are tightlipped about what could be NIA's future course of action. "Everyone is aware about the fact that the noose has been tightened around Mirwaiz and he won't be spared. The so-called JKLF chief Yasin Malik has already been booked under Public Safety Act and is cooling his heels at Kot Balwal jail. If the Government really wants separatists to wind up their shops then it needs to go ahead with its plan to make these Pak stooges fall in line. They are the ones who have kept the pot boiling to make their shops run. Time has come to close down their shops and prevent them from selling the bodies of Kashmiris," said an analyst. He said that the since the day NIA sent the summons to Mirwaiz his supporters and Kashmir centric leaders are describing him as a religious leader. "There is no doubt about the fact that he is a religious leader but during the past thirty years he has been advocating Pakistan's cause in Kashmir and has been instrumental in calling strikes and protests. Had he restricted his activities to religion today NIA would not have summoned him. Leaders like Mirwaiz have been misusing the freedom of speech to propagate anti-national sentiments and hatred against the country," the analyst added. |
