Panthers seek intervention of PM, ECI for reasonably security cover
3/26/2019 10:24:07 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 26: Jammu & Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) senior leadership has sought personal intervention of Prime Minister, Chief Election Commissioner of India & Governor in the mess created by ADGP security J&K, Munir Khan to act as per rule of law and impartially in ensuring adequate security cover to Panthers Supremo its candidates, contesting parliamentary elections in the state and all senior office bearers of the Party during the conduct of polls and thereafter.
Surprisingly with the announcement of election Model Code of Conduct ADGP security, J&K has acted swiftly to withdraw security cover & PSOs from Ex-legislators and state level party leaders who are under threat perceptions to campaign for contesting candidates in the length & breadth of Jammu & Kashmir state more so in remote and far-flung areas of both the provinces when Pakistan exported militancy and local mischief mongers under directions of militants who are openly confronting Armed Forces, State Police and killing innocent people.
Under this critical situation it is difficult to campaign and contest the elections by Panthers Candidates and their campaigners.
For the last ten days Party Supremo has been knocking doors of Higher Authorities demanding security cover to the candidates and campaign leaders in Kashmir Province and Jammu Preadesh, but of no avail.
Prof. Bhim Singh being in "Z" category has been deprived of Police escort with the intention that he should not be able to campaign in militancy prone areas of Kashmir & Jammu during the elections. Our Party candidate from Baramulla constituency, Jahangir Khan, State Secretary is without any security cover & hiding somewhere in a friend's home. Our star campaigners for the party like Anita Thakur, State General Secretary who is a "Y" category protectee has been deprived of security PSOs.
Panthers seek immediate intervention of the Prime Minister, Home Minister & Chief Election Commissioner of India to ensure provision of necessary security cover for Panthers Party candidates & leadership.
P.K Ganju (Journalist & Sr. State Vice President), Masood Andrabi (Vice President), Anita Thakur (General Secretary), Jagdev Singh, Shanker Singh Chib (State Secretaries) & Rakesh Gupta.
