| Power crisis in Jaglanoo Panchayat, people protest against PDD | | |  Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Apr 5: People of Jaglanoo area of Kotranka in district Rajouri protested against the civil administration and PDD department for not providing electric transformer in Jaglanoo panchayat. Irate over the severe power crisis they are facing, the protesting people blocked Rajouri Highway and raised slogans against administration.
People alleged that there is only one transformer in panchayat but it is not sufficient to provide power to the population of more than 1500 souls. They also said that poor condition of electricity is not a day or month old but people are facing this for many years.
Protesters said they raised this issue with the DDC Rajouri and ADC Kotranka on several occasions but in return we got only assurance not transformer.
"Our only demand is to raise the number of transformers in this panchayat so that power crisis can be resolved. We appeal to resolve this issue immediately otherwise the locals will be forced to intensify their protest," a protester said. |
