Two terrorists gunned down in encounter in Shopian | | | Shopian: The security forces gunned down two terrorists in an exchange of fire in Imam Sahib area of Shopian district in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.

Earlier this week, four terrorists of Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were killed in an encounter in Lassipora area of Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district. In the operation, three Army personnel and one policeman also sustained injuries.
There has been a spike in incidents of terrorists attack in Jammu and Kashmir for the past few months.
On March 30, an explosion occurred near a convoy of the 54th Battalion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in a private vehicle in Pulwama. However, no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
"Today around 1030 hrs, an explosion took place in a civil car near Banihal, J&K while CRPF convoy was on move. The car caught fire and slight damage was caused in the rear of one of the CRPF vehicle. No injuries were caused to CRPF Personnel. Incident being investigated," the CRPF had said in a statement.
Recently, the CRPF made changes in the rules of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) with respect to its convoys to avert any possible suicide car bomb threats in the wake of February 14 Pulwama terror attack.
