Dera Kesari Vishal Dangal to be held on April 13

Katra, Apr 10: The 28th Dera Kesari Vishal Dangal 2019 is going to be held on Saturday April 13 at Dera Baba Banda Bahadur in Tehsil and District Reasi.
According to press release the Dangal being organized on the eve of Baisakhi Festival in the memory of great Saint, Warrior and Martyr Baba Banda Bahadur Ji. The decision for organizing the said Vishal Dangal was taken in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Shiv Kumar Sharma, President J&K.
The members who attended the meeting were Baba Jatinder Pal Singh Sodhi (Gaddi Nashin) Dera Baba Banda Bahadur and Baba Bahadur Sikh Samardai, Malik Ram Lubhaya Paruthi (Chairman) Sant Kumar Juneja (President), V.P Makar, Sanjay Kumar and Mohan Singh.
Shiv Kumar Sharma who is also Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India said that Vishal Dangal is being organized by Dera Baba Banda Bahadur Parbandhak Committee and Baba Banda Bahadur Sikh Samardai in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association. Shiv Kumar Sharma while giving the detail of Dangal said about 60-65 Wrestlers from within and outside the State are going to take part in the Vishal Dangal.
Sharma said J&K Wrestlers like Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur, Roun-Domail, Ramnagar, Bahmag, Reasi, Jhajjar Kotli, BSF, JKP, Jindrah have confirmed their entries while from outside the Wrestlers from Amritsar, Jullandhar, U.P, Ludhiana and Dera Baba Nanak are likely to be participate in the Vishal Dangal. Mr. Sharma said it was also decided in the meeting to honour the best
Wrestler of the Dangal with "28th Dera Kesari 2019". He will be awarded handsome cash prize in addition to Traditional Gurj (Gadda) and Patta." Sharma said the decision of the referee in every bout will be final and dangal is organized on Mud Akhara on the bank of holy river Chenab.
Sharma said expenditure of Rs. 1, 10,000/- to 1, 15,000/- likely to be incurred in this one day competition. The whole amount has been generated by Dera Baba Banda Bahadur and Baba Banda Bahadur Sikh Samardai.
Sharma Said about 6500 to 7000 people from the adjoining area of Dera are expected to witness the Vishal Dangal. Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Mohd. Fareed, Master Ram Krishan (Retd.), Mohan Singh, Deepak Wazir, Murli Dhar (Munna) were appointed and invited as technical officials for the smooth conduct of Vishal Dangal. Sarpanch Dhrambir Gur Datta Samaj Sewi & Ex. Sarpanch Noor Wali (Panipat) consented to be the chief guest and President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma will be the guest of honour of the event. Meanwhile, the interested Wrestlers of Jammu region or outside the State can still submit their entries for participate to Shiv Kumar Sharma (94191 61880, 99069 72888). All the wrestlers who participate will get handsome cash prize and both sides bus fare too.
