| Chrungoo appeals Pandits to vote BJP overwhelmingly | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 10: BJP Spokesperson on Kashmir Affairs, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo made an earnest appeal to the Kashmir Pandit community to vote in favour of Bhartiya Janata Party overwhelmingly. He said that it is the BJP which has taken care of the issues and concerns of the Pandit community during, before and after the forced exodus of the community from Kashmir due to ethnic cleansing in the valley. It was the BJP which came forth during the 1986 carnage against them in Kashmir and which raised the issue of their plight in and outside the Parliament. The manifesto which has been named as "Sankalp-Patra" by the party, released in New Delhi, shows deep commitment of the party towards the cause of Jammu and Kashmir and the Kashmiri Pandits. It is an acknowledgement by the party of the efforts of the nationalist forces in the state that the Vision Document declares abolition of Article 370 and Article 35A. While other political parties openly want 'unconditional talks' with the secessionist and terrorist forces in the state, the BJP has categorically said that extremism and terrorism will have zero tolerance at the governmental level. There can be no two opinions that the BJP is one with the Kashmiri Pandits on the issue of the integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of India. The Vision Document released yesterday is one more name for the concept of "India of my Dreams". |
