HC asks Govt to nominate nodal officers for court order compliance on Dal | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Apr 10: High Court has directed all concerned departments to nominate Nodal Officers of senior rank from who would be responsible for compliance of the orders passed in the matter as also the directions of the Committee of Experts regarding safeguard of Dal Lake. Hearing a Public Interest Litigation, a division bench of Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Tashi Rabstan took on record a report by the Committee of Experts submitted in sealed cover. "Let the copies of the report be made available by the Registry to all the counsels appearing in the matter," the court said. Abdul Rashid Malik, Principal District Judge Srinagar, filed also filed a status report while compliance report s were filed by the Director Agriculture, Kashmir, J&K LAWDA and the J&K State Pollution Control Board. "We find that in some reports timelines have been submitted. It is directed that the same shall be placed before the Committee of Experts who shall take a view in the matter," the court said, adding, "Let copies of these reports be made available to the Committee of Experts. After consultation and discussion with the authorities concerned, appropriate timelines shall be assessed and placed by the Committee of Experts before this Court." The court directed government to nominate Nodal Officers of senior rank from each of the department who would be responsible for compliance of the orders passed in the matter as also the directions of the Committee of Experts. "We are informed that the Committee of Experts is visiting Srinagar on 10th April, 2019 and has sought audience before this Court on 11th April, 2019," the court said and posted the PIL on Thursday. |
