DB directs Police to complete investigation | Infant abandonment, trafficking case | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 10: In connection with an alleged incident of abandonment and trafficking of an infant, a Division Bench of State High Court Comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Tashi Rabstan directed police to ensure completion of investigation into FIR No.01 of 2018 registered at Police Station Anti Human Trafficking Unit, Srinagar, and proceed in the matter in accordance with law. DB observed that Status report dated 5th April, 2019 has been filed by the respondents informing the court thereunder that keeping in view the best interest of the child with whose welfare this petition is concerned, temporary custody has been given to a couple and the same is being supervised by the Child Welfare Committee, Budgam. The Child Welfare Committee, Budgam, shall ensure welfare of the child in question and the police shall ensure completion of investigation into FIR No.01 of 2018 registered at Police Station Anti Human Trafficking Unit, Srinagar, and proceed in the matter in accordance with law. DB further directed the Child Welfare Committee, Budgam, to file its quarterly reports regarding the welfare of the child before the Principal District Judge, Budgam, who shall ensure the welfare of the child. |
