| `Irregularities' in PS Mandi , locals demand CBI inquiry | | |

Poonch, Apr 10: Registeration of `fake' FIRs against social workers has won police station Mandi widespread ridicule with some quarters demanding a CBI enquiring to investigate the `irregularities' in day to day functioning of the police station. The arrest of Javid Reshi, a socio-political activist during Lok Sabha elections has brought irregularities to the fore.
A police source informed that, a case under FIR 90/2016 was registered at police station against Javid Reshi under some grim allegations and was arrested on 30th of March when the process for LS elections started. Locals said, Reshi has been staying in Poonch for quite some time. "Why did the police not arrest him three years ago? " they question.
They have appealed to Union Government to make CBI inquiry of the record of Police Station Mandi and book all negligent officials who are harassing the masses to loot them. |
