Jaipur
Ravindra Jadeja became the first ever left-arm spinner to take 100 wickets in the Indian Premier League. Jadeja is also the slowest to take 100 wickets in the IPL, reaching the milestone in his 161st match. He needed 2 wickets before the start of Chennai Super Kings' match against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur on Thursday.
Ravindra Jadeja dismissed Rahul Tripathi in his second over of the match to move to 99 wickets. In his next over, Jadeja got Steve Smith who swept a full delivery straight to Ambati Rayudu at deep midwicket
Ravindra Jadeja first played the IPL for Rajasthan Royals and was a crucial member of the team which won the inaugural IPL in 2008. He moved to Kochi Tuskers Kerala next before Chennai Super Kings bought him for Rs 9.8 crore in the 2012 player auction.
In his very first year for Chennai Super Kings, Ravindra Jadeja made an immediate impact with 12 wickets from 19 matches including his career-best figures of 5 for 16. Jadeja was at his best in 2014, picking up 19 wickets from 16 matches. |
