| Two Mumbai based narco smugglers arrested with 18 Kg charas | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 28: In order to tackle the menace of drugs among the youth which is spreading at an alarming rate, Ramban Police on the directions of SSP Ramban Anita Sharma, during the special drive against the narco smugglers, a police party led by SHO Ramban Inspector Vijay Kotwal under supervision of Dy. SP HQ Ramban Asgar Ali Malik conducted surprise checking of vehicles at Shan Palace on NHW.
During checking & frisking 2 vehicles (Santro) bearing Reg. No. DL4CAP/7336 & DL4CND/2099 were on its way from Kashmir got signalled to stop for checking.
On thorough search of the said vehicles, 2 gunny bags were recovered i.e one gunny bag each from the vehicles filled with Charas (Cannabis) like substances weighing approximately around 18 Kgs (10kgs & 08 kgs respectively) from both the vehicles.
Suspected Drug Smugglers namely Mohammad Qasim S/O Qasim Arabs R/O Aggarwal Wadi SMD Road, Mumbai and Mohammad Karim Sheikh S/O Mohammad Ajaz Sheikh R/O Sai Dharawai, Mumbai Maharashtra has been taken into custody.
In this regard case FIR NO 90/19 & 91/19 U/S 8/20 of NDPS act stands registered against the accused person's at Police Station Ramban & investigation has been geared up to asertain the source & other persons involved in smuggling of contraband. |
