Revenue Department fails to take note of forest encroachment | | | MS Nazki Early Times Report Poonch, Apr 28: Revenue department has allegedly failed to remove illegal occupation and encroachment on 36 Kanals of forest land in village Nar in subdivision Mendhar as the complainant has been running from pillar to post for justice , sources added. Sources said one Mohd Haneef son of Nazir Hussain Khan R/o village Nar has lodged a complaint against MohdAzaz Khan and others of same village accusing them of encroaching forest land measuring 36 Kanals under khasra No 3 to 7 in forest compartment 153/M . They have been able to get illegal mutation attested in their names with the active connivance of then Patwari. He said the encroachers have been damaging the green gold and have occupied the government property illegally. He said status quo order by commissioner Poonch, nothing has changed. The order, according to them, is being violated with impunity. Haneef further alleged that the revenue records the land belongs to Forest department and several other departments also endorse this fact but still why Revenue department failed to take action against the encroachers in a million dollar question. When contacted District Forest officer Poonch , Mohandass Choudhary told Early Times that said land belongs to Forest Department and we have shot letters to Revenue department in this regard but no action has been taken , he added. Meanwhile SDM informed Early Times that Tehsildar concerned has been directed to lodge FIR against the encroachers and make the investigation in matter as warranted under law. |
