Jammu, April 28: Continuing its drive against drug menace under Operation 'Sanjeevani', District Police Jammu arrested two drug peddlers at Narwal and recovered around 430 Kg poppy straw from their possession.
Police spokesman said that today a joint team of police post Narwal (led by incharge police post Narwal-SI Khyatiman Khajuria) and SOG Jammu (led by SI Arjun Magotra) while on routine checking, stopped a truck bearing registration number JK13B 2325 at Naka point, Narwal for checking.
"The driver and co-driver of the truck were identified as Janbaz Ahmed Sheikhof D H Pora, Kulgam and Mubashar Rashidof Nehma, Kulgam, respectively," said spokesman adding that on checking, 430 kg of poppy straw recovered from their possession.
In relation to this, a case under FIR no.116/2019 under section 8/15/29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Bahu Fort police station, the accused have been arrested and investigation has been initiated. |
