Jammu, April 28: Nagrota police today claimed to have arrested four bovine smugglers and rescued 61 bovines from their clutches at Sidhra area.
Police spokesman said that today police party of police post Sidhra led by Incharge police post Sidhra-SI Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday raised a special naka at Sidhra Bridge. "During naka checking, the team intercepted five trucks bearing registration nos. JK03G-3474, JK02AG-5059, JK19-0353, JK14A-9143 and JK02AJ-1517", said spokesman adding that while the trucks were found loaded with bovine animals.
Spokesman further said that total 61 bovine animals have been rescued while four bovine smugglers have also been arrested arrested.
In this connection, cases under FIR Nos. 155, 156, 157, 158, 159/2019 under relevant sections of law have been registered and investigation started.
