| 02 Narco- smugglers held with 18 Kgs charas | | | Early Times Report
Ramban, Apr 28: In continuation to the ongoing drive launched by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) ramban-Anita Sharma against drugs smugglers and its peddling
Police spokesman said that a police party led by SHO Ramban-Inspector Vijay Kotwal under supervision of DySP HQ Ramban Asgar Ali Malik conducted surprise checking of vehicles at Shan Palace on NHW.
"During checking and frisking, 02 vehicles (Santro) bearing Registration number DL4CAP-7336 & DL4CND-2099 were on its way from Kashmir got signaled to stop for checking," said spokesman adding that on thorough search of the said vehicles, two gunny bags were recovered i.e one gunny bag each from the vehicles filled with Charas (Cannabis) like substances weighing around 18 Kgs (10kgs & 08kgs respectively) from both the vehicles.
Police identified the suspected drug smugglers as Mohd Qasim of Aggarwal Wadi SMD Road, Mumbai and Mohd Karim Sheikh of Sai Dharawai, Mumbai Maharashtra. They have been taken into custody.
In this regard cases under FIR Nos. 90/19 & 91/19 under section 8/20 of NDPS Act has been registered against the accused persons at Police Station Ramban and investigation has been geared up to ascertain the source and other persons involved in smuggling of contraband. |
