2 militants, 1 OGW arrested in Chanpora police post attack

Srinagar, Apr 28: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested two militants and one over ground worker (OGW) within 30 hours over the attack carried on Chanapora Police Post in Srinagar, leading to the injuries to a policeman.
Jammu and Kashmir Police said that weapon snatching attempt was foiled and all the three militants have been arrested from Wathoora, Budgam.
Addressing a press conference here, SSP Srinagar Dr. Mohd Haseeb Mughal said that it was found that during the attack militants tried to snatch weapon form police sentry, but policeman showed resistance to the attackers who fired at him. One bullet hit the constable Feroz Ahmed, who is undergoing treatment at the hospital and is under observation.
He added with the help of intelligence inputs and rounding up some suspects who were on our radar and during questioning one suspect accepted his hand in the incident, who further revealed other names of further culprits.
SSP further said, "As the gun was attached by chain to the uniform, militants could not snatch weapons. Following the investigation, we have arrested three people. Mushtaq who fired the bullet Junaid, who entered the police post for verification and Lateef who drove the bike and ferried them.
SSP added that background of these militants is linked to Pulwama district, Sameer and Mushtaq are friends who studied at Kashmir University and on his command this group tried to snatch weapons, who would have a hand gun over to that organization.
"Chinese pistol, 2 magazines, web belt where they kept the magazine and pulsar bike was recovered from the militants, further all the three arrested culprits are being affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed", he added. Budgam Police and 53 RR were involved in nabbing the attackers. Earlier Al-Umar had claimed the attack.
