| TDF seeks restoration of reserved seats | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 28: Thathri Development Front (TDF) has demanded rotation of reserved assembly seats besides suitable amendments in the latest amended state Panchayati Raj Act and delimitation of assembly seats before Assembly /BDC's elections.
Kuldeep Kumar Rao, President TDF said that one clause in the amended state constitution regarding block Development councils & District Planning & Development boards that was introduced by Congress & NC, says that these councilors & Chairmen would be only ladies who should necessarily be from SC/ST & followed the same by PDP & BJP.
Rao further said that the people of Jammu province have never got what was their genuine due share in the socio-economic and political processes during all these more than 70 years of the state's accession to India. It is Jammu based leadership that is responsible for the step-motherly treatment being meted out to the people of this Province, as also for the prevailing discontent in this region. |
