Early Times Report Jammu, June 8: Editor, Early Times, Munish Gupta, on Saturday asked people to evaluate the performances of their former MLAs and then cast their vote in the forthcoming assembly elections in the state. Carrying forward his mass contact programme in different areas, Munish said, "It's high time for people to assess the performance of their former MLAs. We can't just keep on casting our vote blindly." "Ask yourselves whether our elected representatives have lived up to our expectations or not?" said, Munsih, who would be contesting the upcoming Assembly elections as an Independent candidate from Gandhi Nagar constituency. He said the areas which he has visited during his ongoing mass contact programme have been ignored by one and all. "The elected representatives, who could have played a pivotal role in developing these areas seem to be in deep slumber and have forgotten the electorate which voted them to power," he added. Munish assured the people that if he wins the elections, he would ensure that their genuine grievances are addressed and the funds which are sanctioned for the development of the various areas are ultilized. "In many areas there are no streetlights, drains stink and live electric wires pose threat to lives of the people. These issues need immediate redressal," Munish added. |
