Early Times Report VIJAYPUR, June 14: Former Minister, Chander Prakash Ganga, while paying tributes to Brigadier Ranjender Singh, the 'Saviour of Kashmir', on his 120th birth anniversary observed at his native village Bagoona in Samba, made a fervent appeal to Prime Minister Narendera Modi to scrap Article 370 and 35 A from J&K terming it as a tribute to the legend in a true sense. Ganga, while remembering the outstanding contribution of Singh towards the state and the Nation, said that he is the 'Immortal Dogra' and the 'Saviour of Kashmir' and the people of J&K are proud to have such ancestors. Singh hailed from the Duggar land of Jammu, a community deeply entrenched in the armed forces of India for several generations, he added. He said that Singh continues to be an inspiration for people across Jammu, and almost every household has one or two members serving in the armed forces, many defending the border and the Kashmir valley. Ganga said that Brigadier Rajinder Singh was the first recipient of Maha Vir Chakra in independent India who was revered as a standing stead-fast example of dutifulness, chivalry and supreme sacrifice after determined fight against very heavy odds. Expressing concern over eroding Dogra culture, Ganga said that there is greater need of propagating Dogras role and contribution towards Nations security, integrity and soveirgnity so as to further boost the morale of this brave and martial community of Jammu region. He added that role of Dogras in the first world war has been mentioned in various books in foreign libraries adding that Zorawar Singh was a unique planner and a soldier whose callibre was matchless.
