Early Times Report Jammu, June 14: The Aam Aadmi Party's Jammu and Kashmir unit has termed the de-limitation proposal as another jumla of BJP led central government. According to press release, a meeting of AAP leaders was held under the Chairmanship of S. Deep Singh, Founder & National Council member of AAP and discussed the prevailing political scenarios in the state particularly the hysteria created by the BJP publicity wing at the centre to amuse & keep the people of the state in good humour, be it those in its favour or those opposing it. The members reminded the people that BJP had around 7 Legislators in 2002 when Farooq Abdullah led NC Government had introduced amendment No:29 dated 23-4-2002 deferring de-limitation beyond census after 2026. Both BJP & Congress as also NPP simply nodded before Farooq Abdullah without reading ramification of denial of de-limitation. Launching scathing attack on the forces opposing de-limitation of seats in the state, the release said that why those crying for equal treatment to all the three regions from the roof tops, forget that if an Assembly Constituency- comprised of around 1,60,000 electors, can't be bifurcated into two seats because in around a dozen seats ,the number of electors is below 60,000? The release further added that these very forces in the garb of Art.370 exploited the poor masses of valley & perpetrated excesses on others. Has not the time come to apply same yard stick of (i) population, (ii) geographical connectivity & (iii) inaccessibility, for the entire state thereby virtually giving justice to all the three regions? The BJP is actually part of the problem with regard to formations of De-limitation. Now when it has earned the name of Jumla party, the feelers it has thrown to judge the public sentiments, has again back tracked saying that there is no such move for the time being, the release said and added that these are the words uttered by none else but from the Horse's mouth- the Governor of the state. Prominent among those who attended the meeting included Ram Singh Chauhan, Farooq Ahmed Banday, Kuldeep Kumar Rao, Om Prakash Khajuria, , S. Parmveer Singh S.S. Jamwal, Ram Pal Khajuria, Amit Langer, Rahul Sharma &. C.L.Sharma . |
