| Udhampur farmers seek irrigation canal | | |  Early Times Report
Udhampur June 14: Despite having lots of water in natural resources at Nallah Ghoria Block Ghordi in District Udhampur irrigation department is yet to construct an Irrigation canal to divert the water directly towards the farm lands.
Over 500 farmers of the said area suffer for want of water as their crop dies down in scorching heat.
Chandar Kant Sarpanch Nallah Ghoria while talking to ET said "we have lot of natural resource of water but due to absence of irrigation canal over 500 farmers in our village suffers."
He said that if they got proper irrigation, the crops will increase manifold. "We can also grow seasonal vegetables and other seasonal crops," he said.
According to him, the matter was taken up with the concerned repeatedly but all in vain
Farmer's demanded an irrigation canal at the earliest so that farmers do not suffer more. |
