APS Damana organises innovation competition

Jammu, Oct 3: Army Public School Damana hosted a two days 'Innovation Competition' under the aegis of 26 Inf Div APSs Rolling Trophy Championship from 30 Sep- 01 Oct 2019 on the theme- UPHAR- A gift to the Society for three different levels viz Level I( Classes III-V), Level II (Classes VI-VIII) and Level III (Classes IX-XII). The theme of Innovation Competition has been envisaged to provide an illuminating platform to the budding young scientists of participating Army Public Schools, Fauji Public School Samba and has been inspired from the School's theme of the current session, 'Innovative Pedagogy Including Active and Experiential Learning'.
Brig KK Singh, Chairman APS Damana was the Chief Guest of the event. The programme commenced with lighting the ceremonial lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana and an inspiring song by APSDIANS on Innovation. The inaugural ceremony was also attended by the Principals of various Army Public Schools and other eminent personalities. The inquisitive students of participating Schools including APS Damana, APS Kaluchak, APS Jammu Cantt, APS Sunjuwan, APS BD Bari, APS Miran Sahib and Fauji Public School Samba displayed their innovative ideas in the form of prototypes to showcase their critical thinking and creativity. The Chief Guest interacted with the innovators and was highly impressed with their exhibits like Intelligent Converter- a smart switch which can replace the existing switches and can control all the electrical appliances with a mobile phone, Water Conservation for Future Gen, Waste Management by segregating and treating the household wastage, etc.
