DDC Samba reviews implementation of BBBP, Swachh Shauchalaya schemes

SAMBA, NOV 06: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Rohit Khajuria today reviewed the implementation of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) and Swach Sundar Samudayic Shauchalaya (SSSS) Schemes, here at a meeting. The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Sukhleen Kour, District Social Welfare Officer, Deep Kumar, District Information Officer, Ajay Sharma, Chief Medical Officer Rajinder Samyal besides Block development officers and child development officers of district Samba. The DDC, who is also chairman BBBP campaign, reviewed the programmes, activities and awareness camps organized under the schemes during the 2018-2019 financial year. He laid emphasis upon holding innovative and wide spread awareness generation programme to bring maximum population under the ambit of BBBP Scheme and encourage girl children to avail their right of education as well as right to good life.
The DDC directed the Nodal Officer BBBP, (DSWO), to honour the meritorious girl child and organize exclusive girl competition in genre of painting, singing, debates, essay writing at Block as well as District Level. The DDC also announced that winner of the competition shall be suitably awarded in order to promote girl education.
DC also constituted team of CMO and revenue officials for conducting intensive checking against PNCDPT Act violators. He directed to check ultra sound centres, hospitals and clinics to curb the menace of killing girl child at birth. He exhorted upon all the stakeholders to work in co-ordination so that the results in increasing Sex ratio are evident on the ground. Later, the District Development Commissioner discussed the Guidelines issued under Swach Sundar Samudayik Saunchayala (SSSS) Campaign. It was informed that SSSS is a people's Campaign to construct, paint and maintain community toilets and promote its usage.
The DDC informed that that the one month campaign started from November 1 and will continue till December 31, 2019. He asked the BDOs to mobilize people to construct, paint and maintain their community toilets. He also said that by end of campaign the states will report and will be awarded based
