Rajouri Admin-Labour Deptt on loggerheads over land acquisition issue | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 6: The face-off between District Administration Rajouri and Labour Department seems to be continued over the alleged attempt by the former in occupying Labour Department's land for construction of Election Office. Sources told Early Times that the incident took place last month, when local administration unloaded building material at Labour Department Office for construction of Election Office without taking Labour department on board. "No legal procedure was followed for acquisition of land by the administration before unloading the building material. The decision was taken on the part of administration in hurried manner which irate the Labour Department," sources said further alleged that the unjustified move was taken only to avoid lapse of fund which was allotted for construction of Election Commissioner office Rajouri before the implementation of Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act 2019. "The land was purchased by Labour Department in the year of 1980 by following illegal procedure but the Rajouri Administration trying to build its office on the said land just to save the funds from being lapsed without transferring land deed," they said. Although recently in Board meeting of J&K Building Construction Workers Welfare Board which was chaired by Advisor to Governor Kurshid Ahmed Ganai on September it was proposed to build new office complex for Labour office, PF office and J&K BOCWWB district office in Rajouri on the said land. |
